The flood situation in the state of Johor continues to worsen. As of Sunday morning, January 12, the number of affected people has exceeded 3,000.
The Johor Disaster Management Committee reported that as of 8:00 AM on Sunday, January 12, the number of flood victims in the state had reached 3,449, an increase from 2,524 twelve hours earlier.
“As of 8:00 AM, a total of 3,449 people from 1,023 families were taking shelter at 36 flood relief centers throughout the state.”
Currently, Kota Tinggi is the hardest-hit area, with 1,160 people from 368 families affected.

This is followed by Kulai with 748 evacuees; Johor Bahru with 605; Kluang with 506; and Pontian with 430.
