In 2022, Elva Hsiao suffered a hip joint fracture, leading to the cancellation of her planned world tour concert. She had to undergo five surgeries in total. After a long period of recovery, she recently made an appearance on the Chinese program Let Me Sing, showcasing her still amazing physique that belies her 45 years of age.

When asked about her feelings regarding her long-awaited comeback in April, Elva expressed that it felt like starting all over again. During the two and a half years and five surgeries, she worked hard on rehabilitation. Her interactions were limited to doctors, nurses, therapists, and family members in her daily life, and her routine became highly structured. Thankfully, her efforts paid off. “Returning to the stage I love the most feels like starting all over again, akin to the feeling of just debuting,” she remarked.
