Fahmi Receives Courtesy Call From New Communications Ministry Sec-gen

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has expressed his hope that the Communications Ministry's new secretary-general, Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah, will carry out his mandate and responsibilities excellently in driving the ministry’s administration.

Fahmi said this in a Facebook post after receiving Abdul Halim’s courtesy visit at Parliament today.

“May you carry out your mandate and responsibilities with excellence. Best wishes in your duties, and welcome to the Communications Ministry,” he said.

Abdul Halim, 54, who was previously the National Disaster Management Agency director-general, has been appointed as the new secretary-general of the Communications Ministry with effect from today.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a Master of Business Administration from Universiti Putra Malaysia.

He has served in the public service for nearly 30 years, starting as an assistant director at the Implementation Coordination Unit, Prime Minister’s Department (JPM).

Before his appointment as NADMA director-general on June 9, he served as senior deputy secretary-general (Finance & Development) at JPM in 2023.
