In conjunction with the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year, Selangor police have mobilized 3,100 officers for patrols and are urging the public to immediately report any suspicious individuals spotted in their communities without hesitation.
Selangor Police Chief Dato' Shazli called on the public to remain vigilant before returning to their hometowns, and to proactively fill out the 'Going Home Form' so that the police can keep track of the information and strengthen patrol and preventive measures.
He said this measure aims to enhance public crime prevention awareness and reduce the risk of crime during the festive season.

He pointed out that during the festive season, many people return to their hometowns, leaving their homes vacant for extended periods, making them easy targets for break-ins. Therefore, the police will increase patrol frequency and strengthen community protection.
"If the public notices any suspicious people or incidents, they should report to the police immediately without hesitation, so that action can be taken swiftly."
Shazli made these remarks after attending the "Safe Visit and Caring for Kajang Community" event at the Kajang MRT station on Saturday.
He added that the public is also encouraged to contact their local district police headquarters' operations room to help further enhance security prevention work.
He said that if the public has any feedback, dissatisfaction, or notices shortcomings regarding public security, they can also inform the police through the Volunteer Smartphone Patrol (VSP) mobile application.
On another note, earlier he took the MRT from Sri Raya MRT station to Kajang MRT station, warmly interacting with the public along the way to understand the security situation.
