Taiwanese leader Lai Ching-te shared a video on social media on Sunday (February 22), showing him together with former leader Tsai Ing-wen, interacting with their pet dogs.
Lai Ching-te posted the video on Instagram on Sunday, and wrote that last year Tsai Ing-wen visited the official residence. Besides sharing advice and encouragement with him and Vice Leader Hsiao Bi-khim, she also specially brought her pet dogs 'Lele' and 'Pineapple Girl' to meet his adopted dogs 'Banban' and 'Murphy'.
Lai Ching-te did not specify the exact time the video was filmed. In the post, he mentioned that Tsai Ing-wen prepared her dogs' favorite beef jerky, while he gave Pineapple Girl a pineapple-shaped toy, and Lele his favorite toy ball.
Monday (February 23) is the first working day of the Year of the Horse in Taiwan. On Monday morning, Lai Ching-te will hold a New Year gathering in the Great Hall of the Presidential Office with the heads of the Five Branches (Executive Yuan, Legislative Yuan, Judicial Yuan, Examination Yuan, and Control Yuan). Hsiao Bi-khim will also attend, and the entire event will be held behind closed doors.
Lai Ching-te previously stated that there is no specific agenda set for this Five Branches tea gathering, nor is there any pre-established goal for issuing a statement.
