The TVB reality show Voice of Middle Age 3 aired its "Classic Love Songs" episode on May 4. The competition's Top 7 will advance to the finals, while Penang's Wong Cheng Jun-Yan was eliminated, reducing him to an eighth-place finish. His elimination brought tears to host Vivien Yeo, judges Maria Cordero and Linda Wong, and many contestants.

During the episode, Wong Cheng Jun-Yan performed I Will Always Love You and received high praise from judges George Lam and Clement Zhang. Despite this, he did not advance to the finals. Many contestants were reluctant to see him go, and even Maria Cordero, Linda Wong, and Vivien Yeo could not hold back their emotions.

After his elimination, Wong expressed heartfelt gratitude to veteran singer Jenny Tseng: "I want to thank her for encouraging me. She noticed me, a ‘nobody,’ and even posted about me on her social media, urging me to believe in myself and saying that I could do it. I have gained so much from this experience. Thank you for seeing me. I hope one day, on another stage, I’ll have the chance to sing one of Jenny’s songs again."
