(Kuching, June 8) — AirBorneo has announced that, since June 5 (Friday), multiple technical maintenance issues with several aircraft, routine maintenance on some planes, and operational as well as crew scheduling factors have resulted in disruptions to numerous flights in Sarawak and Sabah.
In a statement, AirBorneo indicated that since June 5, there have been delays or cancellations for many flights across East Malaysia, and flight services may continue to be affected in the coming days.
The statement read: “In all circumstances, our decisions are always made with the safety of our passengers and crew as the top priority. Any aircraft requiring technical inspections will be temporarily grounded based on preventive measures until our engineering team confirms its airworthiness.”
“Due to multiple aircraft undergoing maintenance and technical inspections, the number of available planes is temporarily limited. Therefore, while these aircraft are gradually returning to service, passengers should anticipate potential schedule changes, cancellations, or delays in the coming days.”
The company also urged passengers flying with AirBorneo during this period to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
The statement continued: “Our team is working around the clock to minimize the impact and arrange alternative flights for affected passengers at the earliest opportunity. We are committed to fully restoring flight services as soon as possible, with safety as our utmost concern.”
“Affected passengers will be notified directly, and may also contact our customer service center for the latest information, to reschedule, or to seek assistance.”
