(Miri, 5th) In conjunction with the opening of the 4th Borneo Cultural Carnival last night, the organizers not only promoted culture but also remembered to give back to society. Donations were presented on-site to several units, including the Borneo Evangelical Mission (BEM) Kenosis Women Centre, Miri Special Children Centre, Islamic Welfare Association (PERKAYA) Orphan Welfare Association, Miri Chiao Nan Primary School, and Miri Chung Hua Secondary School.
The donations were presented by Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari, Premier of Sarawak.
Other witnesses present included Datuk Hii King Chiong, Ambassador of Coordination for the Borneo Cultural Carnival 4.0, Datuk Sebastian Ting, Sarawak Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mayor Yii Siu Chin, Joint Chairperson of the Borneo Cultural Carnival 4.0, Miri Resident Karunruan, Borneo Cultural Carnival 4.0 Chairperson Lee Tien Song, and Borneo Cultural Carnival 4.0 Preparation Committee Chairperson Lim Bo Ching.
