Multicultural Brilliance Shines—Delegates from Four Regions Gather for Exchange

(Miri, 5th) — Chairman of Borneo Cultural Carnival 4.0 and President of the Sarawak Chinese Association, Lee Tiansong, stated that this year’s carnival saw the participation of 24 ethnic organizations, welcoming cultural delegations from Sabah, Brunei, Indonesia, and China. The event reached a new scale, marking its official entry onto the stage of international cultural exchange.

He expressed these remarks in his address of thanks last night at the opening ceremony of the “Borneo Cultural Carnival 4.0”, held by the Sarawak Chinese Association at the Riverside Shopping Plaza open-air parking lot.

He said that since the carnival was founded in 2017, it has grown continuously with the support of the community, expanding from an initial 15 participating ethnic groups to its current scale, and has become an important platform for promoting cultural exchange.

He expressed gratitude to corporate sponsors, the 24 ethnic organizations, cultural delegations from various regions, and the organizing committee members for their efforts. He also thanked the Miri City Council and the District Office for their assistance in event approval and coordination.

Lee Tiansong also thanked the Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts for their continued support, as well as the assistance and contributions from many leaders.

He offered special thanks to Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari, for his years of support and encouragement, noting that he has continuously helped promote the event since its inception, giving vital impetus to the carnival’s development.

He stated that there will be continuous expansion of the event in the future to attract more international participation, aiming to make the Borneo Cultural Carnival an important platform for regional cultural and tourism exchange.
