(Miri, 13th) Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, the Sarawak Minister of Transport, inspected the Phase 4 Miri Public Park project today.

Lee Kim Shin stated to the media after inspecting the project that currently, the project is 40% complete, which is less than the expected 50%. He hopes the contractor can speed up the pace to ensure the project is completed on time.

“This Phase 4 rocky and forest park construction plan was approved under a special allocation from the Sarawak Premier, Abang Johari, costing RM1.5 million and covering an area of 11.05 acres.”

Lee Kim Shin said they are applying for funding to build a lookout tower and are also seeking suitable locations to construct an eco-friendly brick park, as Miri's eco-friendly bricks set a Guinness World Record last year.

“This area is very famous, especially among the nearby community and residents of Lambir. Many citizens come here to exercise, so this place has development potential.”

He also said this park will also become a tourist park in Miri due to its unique flowers, trees, and heritage-cultural rocky areas, serving as both a leisure park for Miri residents and a sightseeing park for tourists.

“The project will preserve the trees and conduct safety assessments to ensure there won't be landslide incidents.”

Reportedly, the project includes jogging tracks, rock climbing, two pavilions above rock cliffs, parking lots, public toilets, and artificial natural staircases with landscaping.
