On the morning of the 6th, a Javan leopard broke into one of Indonesia’s most popular resort hotels, causing panic among guests. The leopard has since been captured.

According to AFP reports, that morning, the Javan leopard entered the area outside a room on the second floor of a hotel in Bandung, the capital of West Java and Indonesia’s most populous province. The hotel management immediately notified firefighters, who then reported the sighting to the local conservation agency.

The head of the West Java conservation agency, Agus, said: "We used a tranquilizer and removed the leopard from the hotel at 10:00 a.m. local time."
An uninvited guest showed up at a Bandung hotel.
He stated that it will take some time to confirm whether the captured leopard is the same one that escaped from the zoo at the end of August. The zoo is only 5 kilometers away from the hotel.

There have been previous incidents in Indonesia involving animals escaping from zoos.

In 2021, at a zoo in Singkawang, West Kalimantan province, continuous heavy rain caused a hole to appear near an enclosure, allowing two Bengal tigers to escape. One of the tigers was later shot dead, while the other was recaptured alive.

A 47-year-old zookeeper and several animals were also found dead near the tiger enclosure.
