(Miri, 29th) Yesterday (28th), Chung Hua Middle School, Lutong (Lutong Chung Hua Middle School) held a grand signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hong Kong’s Catholic Newman School at the Shengyang Hall on its campus. This symbolizes the official establishment of a partnership between the two schools, jointly opening a new chapter in educational exchanges and cultural cooperation. In the future, the two parties will further promote educational innovation and international development through multifaceted cooperation, including curriculum co-development, teacher-student exchanges, and multicultural interaction.
At the ceremony, Jiang Peijuan, Principal of Lutong Chung Hua Middle School, delivered a welcoming speech, expressing her warm welcome and sincere greetings to Principal Ng Wah Biu of Catholic Newman School and the visiting delegation of teachers and students. Newman School upholds the motto of “Virtue and Excellence,” which resonates with Lutong Chung Hua’s six core values: respect, empathy, integrity, gratitude, excellence, and diligence, reflecting the shared vision of both sides in character building and holistic development.
Principal Jiang Peijuan stated that this memorandum of understanding is not just a piece of paper, but an educational bridge connecting Sarawak and Hong Kong. In the future, the two schools will carry out ongoing and in-depth cooperation in teaching practice, academic research, and cultural interaction, learning from each other to broaden the international perspectives and overall qualities of their students.

She also emphasized that this exchange is not only a fusion of knowledge and cultures, but also the building and continuation of friendships. She hopes that the students of both schools will foster genuine friendships through their interactions, inspire dreams through mutual learning, and allow the partnership to continue to deepen and develop steadily.
At the end of the ceremony, Principal Jiang Peijuan further extended her warm wishes in Cantonese to the visiting teachers and students, wishing them a fruitful and rewarding stay in Miri, and hoping that the friendship and cooperation between the two schools will endure and flourish.
