Recently, the ongoing contract dispute involving the Korean girl group "NewJeans" has finally concluded, with them remaining under "ADOR." Recently, "ADOR" has been using AI tools to actively identify trolls who have defamed, insulted, or maliciously altered images and published false content about NewJeans, preparing to strike back hard. Not long ago, a female netizen was sued by "ADOR" for posting a maliciously doctored photo on social media. After the Korean prosecution indicted her, "ADOR" sought 700,000 KRW in damages (about 1,959 MYR).
Since October last year, the Busan District Prosecutors' Office indicted a female netizen for posting doctored images of NewJeans members and publishing false content on social media. Although "ADOR" is seeking damages from her, the court has yet to make a ruling. Separately, in October of last year, the Daegu District Court fined a male netizen 200,000 KRW (about 559 MYR) for malicious slander on an online forum. With "ADOR" taking decisive legal action, a total of 40 netizens involved in serious cases of slander and defamation have so far been referred to the prosecutor's office.
