58-year-old Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and American country music singer Keith Urban were rumored to be breaking up as early as last September. On January 6, the two submitted agreement documents to the court, reached a settlement, and finalized their divorce, formally ending their 19-year marriage. According to the terms of the agreement, their 17- and 15-year-old daughters will spend 306 days a year living with Nicole; Keith will be able to spend time with the girls every other weekend.
As both have a monthly income exceeding US$100,000 (about 400,000 ringgit), they have mutually agreed to waive any right to child or spousal support, and will each bear their own legal fees and related expenses. In addition, all assets, including investments, bank accounts, household furniture, appliances, vehicles, and personal belongings will be divided by mutual agreement, with each party retaining their currently held portion. It is unclear whether they had previously signed a prenuptial agreement.
Nicole and Keith married in June 2006. Last September, media reported they had been separated since early summer, and on September 30, Nicole officially filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
