(Thailand, 7th) The Thai government cordially invites the public to attend the “Splash—2025 Soft Power Forum,” hailed as Southeast Asia’s largest soft power showcase event, held this Tuesday to Friday at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok.
Government spokesperson Chaiyarit Hongsap stated on Sunday that this event, themed “Opportunities for Thailand in the Creative Cultural Industry,” is jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Department of Cultural Promotion, and the National Soft Power Strategy Committee, with strong support from the private sector, local communities, and international networks.
The forum will bring together two former prime ministers and current government leaders on the same stage to share their perspectives, aiming to propel Thailand’s soft power onto the global stage.
The event will focus on 14 creative industries, including cuisine, fashion, film, and tourism, showcasing their potential as driving forces for sustainable economic growth. Among these, the “Visionary Stage” will invite top Thai and international thinkers, creators, and leaders to share insights and experiences.
Prime Minister and Minister of Culture Paetongtarn, whose position is currently suspended, will deliver the opening speech on Tuesday, titled “Rising Thailand: Tourism, Education, and the New Frontiers of Soft Power.”
On Wednesday, former Prime Minister Thaksin will deliver a speech titled “Shaping the Future: From OTOP to ThaiWorks and Beyond.”
On Thursday, former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin will join Thai boxing champion Buakaw Banchamek and Olympic taekwondo champion Panipak Wongpattanakit to explore “New Perspectives on Thai Sports in an Era of Disruption.”
The forum will also feature interactive exhibitions, business matchmaking, expert workshops, and immersive technology experiences.
The public can pre-register for free admission at splash.thacca.go.th.
The government spokesperson said: “This is a rare opportunity to learn from national leaders and industry experts, as well as to draw inspiration that will help transform cultural value into economic strength.”
