Neo Yau Hawk-Sau and Carlos Chan Promote FC3 in Malaysia, Set to Take Part in Celebrity Charity Football Match in October

Currently busy filming the sequel 《终章》 to the movie 《九龙城寨之围城》, Neo Yau Hawk-Sau took advantage of a break in shooting, teaming up with Carlos Chan, Locker Lam, Angus Cheung, and Su San Yu (Gray Bear) to come to Malaysia to promote the upcoming 《Hong Kong FC3 Celebrity Football Friendly Match》 to be held on October 10. He joked that no matter how busy work gets, he insists on staying active and hopes to encourage everyone to develop exercise habits and maintain good health.

With a background as a baseball athlete, Neo is recognized by his teammates as the toughest opponent on the field. He revealed that he will be returning to the baseball field this year to participate in a major competition, so besides filming, he needs to maintain high-intensity training, exercising at least four to five days a week to keep his body in top shape to meet the dual challenges of filming and competition.

At the press conference, Carlos Chan’s eyes seemed to light up when talking about football. When asked if he needed to ask his wife Shiga Lin for “permission” as he sometimes plays into the late hours, he laughed and asked the media, “Do any of you have such difficulty?” causing the whole venue to burst into laughter. Carlos said that he doesn’t have many hobbies and that football is a sport he’s very passionate about, so his wife has always been very supportive.

Angus Cheung shared that support from his partner is rooted in mutual trust and communication. “As long as she knows I’m playing football with a group of like-minded friends, and it’s such a healthy activity, she naturally feels at ease.” He also looks forward to returning to Malaysia in October to interact with local fans on the field and to share the joy of football.

As team captain, Locker Lam said that this is the first time since FC3’s founding that the entire team has come to Malaysia to compete. Everyone is very excited and looking forward to meeting local fans. “This time, we’re not just playing football; we're also hoping to spread the spirit of sports and positive energy through this charity game, which makes it especially meaningful.” Su San Yu, a former professional footballer and Hong Kong national team representative, expressed his happiness at being able to use his experience and skills to lead the team, saying, “Watching everyone improve with each game is very fulfilling for me.”

FC3 was founded in 2024 by Carlos Chan and others during the filming of the drama 《无惧》 in Malaysia. The team consists of Hong Kong celebrities who love football and is based on the idea of “thirty and thriving.” They hope to use football to foster friendship, skill exchange, and promote healthy living. The team is captained by Locker Lam, coached by former Hong Kong national team captain Chan Wai Ho, and includes members such as Carlos Chan, Neo Yau, Angus Cheung, Hong Ka Ho, Alton Wong, Su San Yu, etc. The team trains regularly and actively participates in amateur matches and community charity activities.

The 《Hong Kong FC3 Celebrity Football Friendly Match》 will officially kick off on October 10 (Saturday) from 8pm to 10pm at the Petaling Jaya Stadium. FC3 will face off against Selangor Football Club, with part of the proceeds being donated to the Malaysia Make-A-Wish Foundation. On the afternoon of the 29th, Lai Lok Yi attended the FC3 Hong Kong Celebrity Malaysia Friendly Match press conference and revealed that he specifically brought his wife and two sons to Malaysia for the trip. In addition to attending the wedding of Benjamin Yuen and Bowie Cheung, he took the opportunity to tour Malaysia with his children a few days early. Lai also said that many actors from the long-running TVB sitcom Come Home Love: Lo and Behold will be flying to Malaysia to witness the big day for Benjamin and Bowie.
