(Miri, 27th) The 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024) successfully concluded on August 24th this year, with Sarawak being hailed as one of the best hosts in the history of the Malaysia Games due to its exceptional hosting capabilities.
Sarawak Wins Championship with Prowess
"Not only did Sarawak successfully host the event, it also claimed the overall championship, marking the fourth time Sarawak has received this honor. The Sarawak delegation won 76 gold medals, 55 silver medals, and 70 bronze medals, demonstrating extraordinary competitive strength."
Hii Khang Chi stated that as the CEO of the 21st Malaysia Games, he extends heartfelt thanks and congratulations to district secretariats, 25 working committees, 17,864 committee staff members, and 3,000 volunteers. Their extraordinary dedication and complete involvement were fundamental to the success of this year's Malaysia Games.
Largest Scale Event
"This year's Malaysia Games was the largest ever, featuring 37 competition events with 488 gold medals contested across nine regions of Sarawak. Despite having only a year and a half for preparation, we not only overcame numerous challenges through high team spirit and cooperation, but also made this year's Games the most successful ever."
Hii Khang Chi added that this Malaysia Games covered 12 regions of Sarawak and various promotional activities were also conducted, including a torch relay, national visits, sponsor appreciation ceremonies, and delegation head meetings. He specifically mentioned that all activities achieved significant results due to the team's harmonious cooperation and collective effort, further enhancing Sarawak's reputation.
He emphasized that this unprecedented collaboration and meticulous planning set a benchmark for future Malaysia Games hosting. The efforts and dedication of the volunteers left a profound impact, once again demonstrating Sarawak's capability to host large-scale events successfully.

At the Northern Region appreciation dinner, along with others, Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim, presented commemorative books and souvenirs to representatives of the provincial governors of the Northern Region.
