(Pahang, 12th) Pahang State Islamic Religious, Rural Development and Indigenous Peoples Affairs Committee Chairman Dato' Seri Syed Ibrahim stated that the Pahang state government has agreed to prohibit the use of e-cigarettes within the state.
He said that this prohibition was issued from the Pahang State Religious Office.
He mentioned that the State Chief Minister's Office submitted a document regarding the current social situation of e-cigarette usage to the state's legal advisor's office for discussion on March 3rd.
"This matter was presented during the Pahang State Executive Council meeting on May 14th and received the royal assent from the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah."
Syed Ibrahim said this to the media after attending the first meeting of the State Islamic Religious Affairs Subcommittee for 2025 held in the operational room of the Sultan Ahmad Shah Administrative Center (PPSAS) on Wednesday.
He also called on all local governments within the state to cooperate in strengthening enforcement efforts from time to time and educating the public to prevent them from using e-cigarettes again.
"We hope the public will refrain from using e-cigarettes, and stores will not need to sell these devices. Those who use e-cigarettes can also quit, as long as they are determined to make an effort to quit."
