(Selangor, 12th) A wanted drug dealer and accomplices were shockingly found carrying a homemade bomb for self-defense?!
Police pursued a 25-kilometer chase with three suspects in a car, ultimately resulting in a crash where the suspects were injured and hospitalized. Besides finding various drugs in the car, the police unexpectedly discovered a suspected homemade bomb.
Currently, the police are investigating the case from the angles of obstructing public servants, drug possession, and illegal possession of explosives.
Serdang District Police Chief, Assistant Superintendent Fahri, stated that around 3:38 a.m. on Wednesday, a police patrol intercepted a Honda Civic carrying three people while conducting a patrol at 16 SIERRA towards Seri Kembangan.
In a statement, he reported that the driver suddenly accelerated towards Seri Kembangan.
He stated that the police then pursued, resulting in a chase that continued until the 5.1-kilometer mark of the Kajang Outer Ring Road, where the car lost control, hit a divider, overturned, and stopped on the road.
“The three Chinese male occupants (aged 40 to 51) were injured and taken to Serdang Hospital for treatment.”
“Two of them have a total of 43 prior criminal and drug-related cases, with one currently wanted for drug activities.”
Fahri cited the investigation, revealing that the police discovered various powdered and pill-form drugs in the suspects' car, including 77.1 grams of cocaine, 49.28 grams of marijuana, 54.07 grams of the powdered hallucinogen 'ecstasy', 3.4 grams of 'ecstasy' pills, 30.18 grams of 'ketamine' hallucinogen, 3.2 grams of methamphetamine pills, and 0.98 grams of 'five youth' hallucinogen pills.
He added that the police also discovered a gray object wrapped in transparent plastic, containing metal parts and screws, a roll of wire, and a motorcycle battery unit, suspected to be a homemade bomb.
Currently, the Serdang and Kajang police are separately investigating under Section 186 of the Penal Code (obstructing public servants in discharge of their duties), Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and Section 3 of the Corrosive, Explosive, and Dangerous Weapons Act 1958 (illegal possession of corrosive, explosive substances, or dangerous weapons).
If convicted, the three suspects could face the death penalty, life imprisonment, and not fewer than 15 strokes of the cane.
