(Miri 16th) YB Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang, Mayor of Miri City,This morning led a site visit to the new Miri Sentral Bus Terminal as part of the final preparations for its soft opening on 18 January 2025. The visit was attended by fellow Councillors of Miri City, staff members, police and Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ) representatives, and the contractor responsible for the management of the terminal. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a trial run to familiarize stakeholders with the road flow for buses and to gain insights into the systems implemented by Konsortium Bas Express (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd.
The new Miri Sentral Bus Terminal features the advanced KBE Easybook Terminal Management (ETM) system, designed to streamline the ticketing process. This system allows customers to purchase tickets conveniently through the website, at the counter, or via a mobile application. Boarding is made simple with a QR code on the ticket, which the passengers can scan directly before boarding the bus.
In conjunction with the opening of the new terminal, the current Pujut Bus Terminal will cease operations on 17 January 2025. Passengers are kindly reminded to make the necessary adjustments to their travel plans during this transition period.
