(Bandar Seri Begawan, 18th) The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) attended the three-day 2026 Anti-Fraud Conference held in Singapore from May 11 to 13, 2026.
The theme of the conference was "Joining Forces to Combat Fraud" and was jointly organized by the Singapore Police Force, the French National Police International Security Cooperation Directorate (DCIS), the Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates, and the International Security Alliance (ISA).
The conference brought together more than 500 delegates from over 20 countries across Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. In addition, representatives from various international organizations, industry partners, and local stakeholders attended the meeting. The main goal of the conference was to strengthen strategic cooperation and share best practices in combating cross-border crime networks.
Representing the Royal Brunei Police Force, Acting Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Handri, was invited to present a report on strategies for dealing with cybercrime, especially online fraud.
In his report, he emphasized the importance of a whole-of-nation effort, requiring active participation from all sectors of society.
He stressed that every stakeholder must take on their respective roles and responsibilities to ensure that action can be taken immediately against any fraudulent activity.
Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of real-time cross-border information and intelligence sharing to undermine the operations of international scam syndicates.
