(Kuala Belait, 18th) The Seria New Village Mutual Aid Society will hold its member general meeting and present the 2025 Outstanding Student Awards on June 28th (Sunday) at 9:00 a.m. at the society's hall. All members and their children are cordially invited to attend on time. Refreshments will be served after the meeting.
Members with proposals are requested to submit them in writing to the society’s office by 4:00 p.m. on June 22nd (Monday), so the proposal can be included in the agenda for discussion at the general meeting. Proposers must attend the meeting in person for their proposals to be considered.
To encourage members’ children to study diligently and strive for excellent academic results, the Outstanding Student Award for members’ children is now open for applications. Children of members who studied in local national stream kindergarten, primary or secondary schools in 2020 and meet the application criteria may apply.
Applicants must fill out the application form and submit it together with the original and a copy of the school report card to the society office for registration and review before June 22nd (Monday). The original report card will be returned after review. Late applications will not be accepted.
Members who have not yet paid the 2025 annual dues are also urged to do so during office hours at the Seria New Village Mutual Aid Society, to avoid losing their children’s eligibility for the award. Awarded students must attend in person to receive the award.
Applicants’ results will be based on their full-year average grades. Those who already possess a certificate of commendation from the school will not be eligible for the Outstanding Student Award.
For kindergarten students: those who achieve top 3 in the year-end ranking, or annual results of all As, or 80% As (Good) or VGs (Very Good) are eligible. For Primary 1 to 11 students: those who achieve top 3 in the year-end ranking or an annual average greater than 80% are eligible. For those who obtain at least 2 As in the Brunei PSR exam, or for Grade 8 SPE government exams and GCE ‘O’ Level exams with no more than 20 cumulative points in any 5 subjects, are all eligible to apply.
