(Miri, 9th) Miri District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga confirmed that the Narcotics Unit of the Miri Police Headquarters arrested a 54-year-old local man involved in drug trafficking during an operation in Permyjaya the day before.
The police arrested the man at 10 p.m. on the 7th of this month during the crackdown operation at the aforementioned location and seized approximately 5.66 grams of methamphetamine, with these drugs valued at about RM630.
The suspect will be investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, which, upon conviction, carries a prison sentence of at least 2 years and whipping of at least 3 strokes.
The Miri police also urge the public to report any information regarding drug activities to the nearest police station to jointly curb and eliminate these activities.
