DAP's Double Standards and Hypocrisy, Proficient at Misleading

(Miri, 8th) The Sarawak United People's Party Propaganda Secretariat strongly refutes the recent unfounded accusations made by the Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) against Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), stressing that DAP is the key driver behind the current political situation. Yet, it deliberately misleads the public, trying to divert attention to cover its double standards and inconsistent actions.

The statement pointed out that Sarawak DAP leader Chong Chieng Jen recently alleged that GPS's support helped Zahid secure power and have his corruption charges dropped. However, the facts clearly show that GPS supported the formation of the unity government to stabilize the political landscape. Zahid's appointment was decided by the PH led by Prime Minister Anwar, with DAP being the largest party in the unity government.

DAP's Double Game Before and After Elections

It must be emphasized that GPS has always focused on Sarawak's autonomy and development agenda, never using accusations of corruption as a tactic during elections. In contrast, DAP heavily promoted the slogan "Zahid in government, corruption runs rampant (GPS Menang Zahid Senang)" during the national elections.

DAP initially used an 'anti-Zahid' slogan to garner votes, yet upon gaining power, they not only accepted Zahid but even supported his deputy prime minister position. The DAP, which once pledged to 'sanction Zahid,' has now become his ally, which is what truly angers the public.

DAP Distorts Facts and Shifts Blame

Evidence shows that DAP deliberately avoids a crucial fact: where were the DAP ministers when Zahid's charges were dropped? If they truly upheld an 'anti-corruption' stance, why didn't they resign in protest? This proves that DAP's outrage is selective and that they care only about power.

DAP tries to shift the blame to GPS's stance leading to the deputy prime minister's appointment. But in reality, the unity government could still be formed without GPS's support; however, without DAP's 40 seats, it couldn't. This clearly shows that DAP could influence any cabinet appointment within the unity government if they were true to their word, but they chose to blame GPS, which is blatant political maneuvering.

GPS's Stance Remains Consistent: "Regardless of black or white cat, the one that catches mice is a good cat"

"GPS's choice of partners is simple: whoever can bring stability to the country, we work with; whoever is willing to restore Sarawak's autonomy, we collaborate with."

GPS has no intention of getting embroiled in Peninsular Malaysia's political chaos, which allowed Sarawak to become a 'kingmaker' in the 15th general election. This had nothing to do with GPS's previous partners.

In contrast, DAP once vehemently supported the slogan "The moon represents my heart," promoting "a vote for PAS is a vote for DAP." Now they backtrack and label their former ally as an extremist party. This pre-and post-election double-dealing mirrors their collaboration with UMNO, deceitfully misleading the voters.

DAP Habitually Misleads Sarawakians Should Not Be Deceived

DAP's recent political maneuvers expose their habitual tactics of misleading voters. In opposition, they proclaimed reform and integrity; in power, they brazenly collaborate with parties they once vehemently criticized.

The crucial issue isn't whether GPS enabled Zahid's power but that DAP willingly accepted Zahid to maintain their positions. Now they turn against GPS; this blatant lack of integrity is evident.

SUPP and GPS Remain Committed to Prioritizing Sarawak's Interests

SUPP reiterates: "Our stance remains the same, firmly upholding Sarawak's autonomy rights, safeguarding Sarawak's interests, ensuring Sarawak's prosperity, and refraining from the Peninsula's power struggles; unlike DAP, which swings between power and morality."
