She said, today, we have 133 primary school graduates and 123 secondary school graduates who have successfully completed their studies and are about to embark on a brand-new stage of life. It is especially worth mentioning that, in this year’s Primary Six Assessment Examination, 28 students achieved excellent results with straight As (5A)! This is not only an academic achievement, but also the best gift for the future. Every bit of effort and reward in the past years will become cherished memories; and the infinite possibilities and challenges ahead are waiting for you to explore bravely and face confidently. May you carry the rewards of your past and courageously meet every challenge on your new journey!
“Youth Unyielding, Dreams Unending” is not only the theme of this year’s graduation ceremony, but also the most vivid annotation of your years at Chung Hwa. Looking back, every stage of your growth has been deeply engraved with our school motto of “Propriety, Righteousness, Integrity, and Honor,” and every step forward has been imbued with the original intention of holistic education. Most precious is that you have not only won accolades for the school such as becoming a “Microsoft Showcase School” with your outstanding academic strength and intelligence, but also confidently demonstrated the unique vision and responsibility of Chung Hwa students on the broad stages of domestic and international cultural exchange.
At this moment, I would like to entrust you with three pieces of advice. First, stay true to your origins and uphold virtues. No matter how far you go in the future, always remember your alma mater’s motto and turn the traditional Chinese virtues learned in the classroom into your codes of conduct—filial piety to parents, gratitude to teachers, kindness to others. Let goodness and integrity become your most distinctive qualities.
Second, study diligently and dare to explore. Primary students should maintain a curiosity for the world and continue honing their abilities during secondary school. Secondary graduates should carry the knowledge and courage endowed by your alma mater to universities or the stage of society, dare to try and innovate, and always keep the passion for lifelong learning.
Third, be mindful of your homeland and take on responsibility. You should have a sense of responsibility to put down roots and build your homeland in Brunei, but also a broad vision to connect with the outside world. No matter where you are in the future, take pride in being a Chung Hwa student and contribute to Brunei’s development and social harmony.
