Cai Mingmin: Clan Members Gather Together, Urges to Honor Ancestors and Pass Down Family Values

(Miri, 28th) Miri Chai Clan Association Chairman Cai Mingmin stated that as the Winter Solstice brings forth the rising sun and spring approaches, the gathering of clan members fills this winter with warmth through strong family bonds.

He made these remarks this afternoon during his speech at the Winter Solstice Senior Citizen Reunion Luncheon, jointly organized by the association's Senior Group and Youth League at Lou Wai Lou.

Cai Mingmin pointed out that for the clan association, the Winter Solstice is not just a solar term, but an important day to remember and honor ancestors and express gratitude for their virtues. As the ancients said: "On the Winter Solstice, people offer worship to heaven." This is an excellent opportunity to hold the memory of those who have passed with respect and to pass down fine family traditions.

He emphasized that the elders present are the greatest treasures of the family. The words and actions of the elders allow the Chai family's fine values to be passed down from generation to generation; the elders' hard work has also laid a solid foundation for the younger generations. On behalf of the clan association, he extended the highest respect and deepest gratitude to all the elders.

Cai Mingmin said that the homemade traditional tangyuan (glutinous rice balls) prepared for the day symbolize completeness and unity among clan members. He hopes everyone enjoys the food, relishes the chats, and celebrates this warm moment of reunion.

He also wished the Chai family to flourish with many distinguished descendants, and sincerely wished every elder present good health, safety, and happiness.
