(B.S.B., 2nd) His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei yesterday chaired the 230th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd (BLNG) for 2026 and the 116th Second Quarter Meeting of Brunei Gas Carriers (BGC).
The meetings were held at the Prime Minister's Office building.
Upon His Majesty's arrival, His Majesty was welcomed by the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office (Energy, Upstream and Downstream) Dato Mohd Azmi, the Second Minister of Finance Dato Liu Guangming, as well as members of the Board of BLNG and BGC.
At the start of the meetings, His Majesty delivered a royal address, expressing hope that these companies will continue to operate as planned.
Meanwhile, His Majesty pointed out that the second quarter presented a challenging and complex business environment.
In this regard, His Majesty emphasized that to truly understand a company's resilience, it is necessary to look beyond external and overall performance.
His Majesty stressed that safety remains a top priority, and clear leadership and strict implementation are required at every level.
His Majesty stated that it is essential for all companies to continuously share and apply lessons learned to strengthen safety and operational performance.
The meetings also discussed key matters such as the operating performance, financial status, human resource development, and strategic direction of the companies along the energy value chain.
His Majesty stated that strategic priorities and future planning must be clearly defined, supported by strong governance to ensure sustainable development.
Stakeholders attending the meetings included shareholder directors representing His Majesty's Government, representatives from Shell and Mitsubishi Corporation, as well as leaders from Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd (BLNG) and Brunei Gas Carriers (BGC).
