Pei Min School On-Campus Crosstalk Competition: Chen Zhenmin & Deng Yutong Win Championship

(Miri, 22nd) The Pei Min Chinese Secondary School Yisheng Club held the "2025 Crosstalk First Experience" crosstalk competition at the school on December 18. The duo of Chen Zhenmin and Deng Yutong stood out among all teams and won the championship.

This competition was organized by the school with the aim of cultivating new crosstalk talents as the next generation of inheritors. Thus, all participants were exclusively Form 1 students. The competition was met with an enthusiastic response, attracting registrations from 19 teams, resulting in fierce competition.

Over the years, Pei Min has nurtured many outstanding crosstalk performers, and the school team has won numerous awards in various competitions in Sarawak. It can be said that the school has played an indispensable role in the development of crosstalk art in the region. In addition, the school’s crosstalk team has also showcased its talents many times on the national stage.

It is worth mentioning that all of the school’s crosstalk teams are personally trained by the experienced teacher Chen Yiping. The students possess solid basic skills, sharp artistic perception, and great stage control, reflecting the younger generation’s profound understanding and sincere love for the art of crosstalk.

Pei Min Principal Bei Meijiao stated that for many years, the school has regarded crosstalk art as an important activity for language education, critical thinking training, and character cultivation. The school has produced a number of outstanding crosstalk elites who have repeatedly achieved outstanding results in competitions at all levels. It can be said that the school’s crosstalk has gradually developed its own unique features and brand.

She hopes that, regardless of winning or losing, participating students will use this as motivation to continue immersing themselves in cultural arts, promoting this excellent traditional art of crosstalk, and allowing it to shine more brilliantly in the new era.

She looks forward to the school continuing to cultivate more talented, thoughtful, and culturally responsible young art talents for the country and society on future stages.
