(Miri, 22nd) The Miri Hakka Association Youth League will organize the 2025 'Calligraphy Heritage Competition' on Thursday, December 25th at 1:00 PM, at the activity room on the third floor of the Miri Hakka Association Clubhouse. Tong Cheng Fa Rice Trading Sdn. Bhd. is sponsoring 60 packs of 335g Butterfly Thai Fragrant Rice for the event.

This calligraphy competition is now open for online registration and encourages Hakka youths to participate actively. To further motivate participation, all contestants will receive gifts and certificates of participation. There are limited slots available and they are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tong Cheng Fa Rice Trading Sdn. Bhd.’s Market Development Executive, Qiu Zixia, recently handed over the sponsored items to Miri Hakka Association Youth League Chairman, Yang Wanyong.

Organizing committee chairperson Liu Limei said that the theme of this year’s competition is 'Calligraphy Heritage', aiming to promote Chinese culture, pass on the art of calligraphy, and inspire teenagers’ interest and passion for traditional culture.

The competition is divided into four categories: Lower Primary (7–9 years old), Upper Primary (10–12 years old), Lower Secondary (13–15 years old), and Upper Secondary (16–18 years old).

The competition is open to all Hakka children (with either father or mother being Hakka), with each category limited to 10 participants. The registration fee is RM10 per person, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis until full.

All competition pieces must be completed on-site. Contestants are not allowed to bring mobile phones, calligraphy model books, or any pre-written works. The competition has a one-hour time limit and the main topic will be announced by the organizer on the competition day.

Each category will have a champion, first runner-up, second runner-up, and seven merit awards. All participants will receive a certificate of participation and gifts—everyone is a winner.

Those interested may scan the event poster QR code to obtain the competition rules and registration details. Complete the registration form to sign up. Registration form link:
