(Washington, 21st) US President Trump warned that if negotiators fail to reach an agreement to end the Iran war, the US may consider imposing a transit fee on the Strait of Hormuz.
On the 20th, Trump posted on social media saying that during the 60-day ceasefire, there will be no transit fee for the Strait of Hormuz. After the 60-day period ends, no transit fees will continue to be imposed.
However, he said that if no agreement is reached, the US will levy a transit fee as compensation for the services provided as the “guardian angel” for Middle Eastern countries, to cover related costs in the past, present, and future.
