Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar said that the Pakatan Harapan is not participating in the 'Rally Supporting Najib' to be held next Monday (6th) at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya.
He gave a brief response when asked by the media after inspecting the Kampung Pandan 'Lestari Niaga MADANI' hawker center and having a meal on Friday (January 3rd): "Pakatan Harapan is not participating."
The media had earlier quoted a statement by UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Mohamad Rafie, reporting that the rally is a display of support and loyalty by party members for the former chairman Najib.
In addition, social media had earlier circulated a letter from PAS instructing its members to attend the 'Support Najib, Demand Justice' rally on January 6th.
Regarding a statement issued today by the National Palace emphasizing that the King can exercise constitutional powers to pardon prisoners, Anwar said that the relevant authorities understand and will follow through with the royal pardon or sentence reduction decree.
"Must read, digest, and comply with His Majesty's decree."
When asked if this statement is closely related to specific political parties and the 'Rally Supporting Najib,' Anwar said that matters concerning the power of His Majesty the King must be read carefully.
