Trump did not attend to watch the match held in Los Angeles on the night of the 12th local time. According to the team spokesperson, the conversation between Trump and the team lasted two minutes.
As a result, the US football team won its opening match, defeating Paraguay 4-1 and getting off to a good start.
According to a video posted on social media on the 12th, the US men’s team said that the 79-year-old US president called on the night of the 11th to send his support and encouragement to the team.

Trump said on the call: “I’m calling simply to say you are an amazing person, a great coach, your record and achievements speak for themselves, and I also know how outstanding these players are. I believe you completely have a chance to go all the way.
“I just want to wish you all good luck.”
Pochettino responded: “Thank you very much for your support, Mr. President.”
The team spokesperson added that all 26 players and staff participated in the conference call.
