Bringing Warmth Before Hari Raya: LCDA Hands Over Business Zakat Funds

(Kuching, 25th) The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) this year handed over more than RM1.78 million to the Sarawak Islamic Charity Fund as business zakat (zakat perniagaan) contributions.
 LCDA General Manager Dato Sri Safri handed over the funds to TBS General Manager Dato Abang Mohamad Shibli at the “LCDA Darul Hana Hari Raya Dinner 1447H/2026M” held Thursday at Waterfront Hotel Kuching.
 Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari was also present at the event, witnessing the mock cheque handover ceremony.

 At the same occasion, Abang Johari also officiated the handover of a total of RM25,000 in Hari Raya assistance funds to the beneficiaries (asnaf).
 A total of 125 recipients from 13 villages under the Darul Hana development area received assistance, each receiving RM200.
 At the same time, the event also celebrated LCDA’s 45th anniversary with the theme “45 Years With the Community”.
 Around 700 guests attended, making it a platform to recognize the support and cooperation of LCDA staff, community leaders, government agencies and departments, and the media over the past 45 years.
 In a statement, LCDA said that this event reflects the authority’s ongoing commitment to promote inclusive and sustainable Darul Hana community development, with the people’s wellbeing at its core.
 This also aligns with LCDA’s role as a people-oriented development institution.
 In addition, this event is one of LCDA’s annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, aimed at alleviating the burden of needy groups during Ramadan and leading up to Hari Raya.
