(Lau Ye, 20th) Civil defense personnel in Lau Ye captured a nine-foot-long giant python, which was discovered on Wednesday morning near a surau (prayer room) chicken coop in Bukit Naga.
Lau Ye Civil Defense District Operations Control Center received an emergency call from the public at 8:35 a.m., reporting a large snake appearing in the chicken coop.
A four-person team was immediately dispatched to the scene and arrived within ten minutes.
According to Lau Ye civil defense officer Lieutenant Maradona Dada (PA), the giant python was found coiled inside the chicken coop at that time and was subsequently subdued using a snake-catching clamp.
The entire operation was completed in a little over ten minutes, the python was safely controlled, and no injuries occurred during the process.
"All four of our team members returned safely to base, all equipment remained intact, and the whole situation was always under control," confirmed Lieutenant Maradona.
This incident is one of several recent cases handled by the Lau Ye Civil Defense Team, as the authorities frequently receive reports of snakes entering residential areas.
