(Bandar Seri Begawan, May 6) Brunei Teng Yun Temple celebrated the sacred birthdays of Prince Muccha and Buddha Shakyamuni with a grand event yesterday, including the Bathing Buddha Ceremony. Temple board members and devotees participated, praying for harmonious weather, national prosperity, and peace among citizens.
During the Bathing Buddha Ceremony, Temple Chairman Lee Yong Zhen led the ritual worship alongside advisors, board members, and devotees.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman Cheng Yong Ming, Vice Chairmen Lin Deng Cai, Lin Deng Yuan, Fang Teng Zhong, Cheng Yong Nian, and Chen Li Rong, as well as board member Peng You Wen, other board members, ritual group members, and devotees.
The Bathing Buddha Ceremony symbolizes the purification of body, speech, and mind. It aims to promote social harmony, environmental beauty, and tranquility. Through the merits of bathing the Buddha, participants purify personal troubles and contribute to the betterment of society and the nation.
