(Kuching, 12th) The Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari, has suggested holding a special economic forum for the Sri Aman district to discuss the potential and direction of the district's economic development.
While delivering a speech today at a Hari Raya celebration event related to Sri Aman in Kuching, he noted that such a forum is of significant meaning as it will bring together intellectuals, successful talents from Sri Aman, and experts from various fields to jointly explore new opportunities arising from the state government's substantial investment in infrastructure like roads, bridges, and riverbank development.
“We cannot just be bystanders. We must think ahead and capitalize on the developing changes.”
He added that the latest technology could be used to explore new economic opportunities in modern agriculture and tourism, aligning with the government's aspiration to develop Sarawak into a developed state by 2030.
In the event attended by approximately 500 guests, Abang Johari also urged the children of the Sri Aman diaspora to return and contribute their ideas and expertise to drive the economic transformation of their region.
