Sarawak Road Transport Department Cracks Down on Illegally Tinted Car Windows

Published at Jan 09, 2025 02:29 pm
(Miri, 9th) The Miri Road Transport Department today launched the " Ops Cahaya" to crack down on vehicles using non-compliant car window tints.

The department's statement pointed out that using non-compliant car window tints is not only illegal but may also pose a danger as poor light transparency can affect drivers' vision during heavy rain or at night, endangering the safety of other road users.

The government has provided flexibility and permits for car owners to use window tints under certain conditions. However, there are still those who refuse to comply and do not adhere to established regulations. Through this operation, the department clearly recognizes this issue and places great importance on passengers' safety.

The department hopes that this operation will raise public awareness of legal compliance and convey a clear and effective message to violators, ensuring they do not repeat the offense.

The public is also expected to report wrongdoing traffic by channeling complaints with complete details through MyJPJ application: e-Aduan@JPJ or via JPJ email complaint aduantrafik@jpj.gov.my。
