Sebastian Ting and Adam Yii Co-Host New Year's Open House

(Miri, 30th) Deputy Minister of the Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Datuk Sebastian Ting, and Miri Mayor YB Adam Yii jointly hosted the New Year's open house event at the Miri Civic Center today, celebrating the Lunar New Year with the community.

In an interview with the media,  Sebastian Ting expressed regret and sorrow over the landslide accident that resulted in the death of five people at the beginning of this Lunar New Year.

"I believe Sarawak in 2025 will be better than last year, both in terms of economy and prosperity. I hope everyone can unite to maintain peace and tranquility in Sarawak."

He also stated that the New Year's open house event is not only a tradition to celebrate the Lunar New Year, but also an important platform to promote mutual exchange and understanding between different races and cultures. He hopes that through such events, community cohesion can be strengthened, and social harmony can be jointly promoted.

This year marks the first time the two legislators have teamed up to host the New Year's event, encouraging participation from various ethnic groups. The event will feature an array of traditional foods and spectacular cultural performances, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Miri Civic Center. It is open to the public to celebrate the New Year together, sharing the joy and blessings of the festival while enjoying delicacies at the New Year's open house.
