(Bandar Seri Begawan, 2nd) Water supply interruptions have brought inconvenience to residents' water usage, and the washing of worn clothes at home has also become a problem.
As a result, residents can only bring large loads of laundry to self-service laundromats located in areas unaffected by the water rationing, causing long lines of people waiting to wash and dry clothes.
A couple with the surname Lim, when interviewed, said that they live in Kampong Mata-Mata, which is affected by water supply interruptions, and that their family's laundry was impacted as well. They had no choice but to drive to a self-service laundromat in the unaffected area of Jerudong to clean their clothes.

However, upon arriving at the laundromat and seeing a large number of people waiting, they had to queue up as well. With the waiting and laundry time combined, it took nearly two hours to get their clothes cleaned.
The person-in-charge of the self-service laundromat said that since the water supply interruption began on Thursday, people have been coming continuously to do their laundry, and the store is filled with customers’ clothing.
“Customers come to the store to do laundry 24 hours a day. The self-service washing machines and dryers have been running non-stop.”
She said that even during the early morning hours, there are customers coming in, because laundry fees are cheaper at night compared to during the day. Families with many members usually choose to come at night to do their laundry.
In addition to the boom in business for laundromats, automatic car washes have also seen increased business compared to usual.
The person in charge of an automatic car wash in Jerudong said that they usually have more than 15 customers a day, but during the water rationing period, more than 80 customers come in each day.
