(Bandar Seri Begawan, 2nd) On Sunday afternoon, water supply in most areas of Brunei-Muara District was restored after repair works on a damaged main water pipe located in Kampong Batang Mitus were completed.
The repair works enabled Pumps 4 and 5 at Bukit Barun Water Treatment Plant to resume operations. Subsequently, fresh water was injected into the main storage tanks and flushing processes were carried out, which are expected to take 8 to 12 hours. The water supply will be gradually restored in phases.
Residents in Ketong Area A and B, as well as Barakas Area A and B, reported that water supply in their areas had returned, though water pressure in some areas remained relatively low.
The authorities stated that monitoring efforts will continue until the water supply system returns to normal operations.
