(Seria, 9th) The Jide Care Association successfully held the "Cultural Academy" event at its clubhouse this Friday, presenting a rich cultural connotation through diverse formats, encompassing classical poetry, sharing of life experiences, and Chinese philosophy, among other themes.

The event opened with all participants, led by the class monitor, reciting Su Shi’s "Prelude to Water Melody" and Yue Fei’s "Man Jiang Hong" in unison, thus commencing the occasion amidst a melodious classical atmosphere.

Subsequently, Huang Meiting shared her personal experience under the theme "Listen, the Sound of Flying Missiles," recounting scenes during the US-Iraq war when the conflict affected Qatar. Local air raid sirens were frequent, windows and doors had to be tightly closed, and blackout measures were enforced. She described hearing the whooshing sound of missiles passing by her ears, vividly portraying the fear and resilience amidst the flames of war.

She stated that, although local life continued in order, she constantly reassured her family and friends in Brunei of her safety, and ultimately returned home via several transfers with official assistance.

The newly-appointed president of the Chinese Culture Federation, Chen Lizhen, introduced the federation’s background, past achievements, and future plans to the participants and expressed hope to promote the development of cultural activities in Brunei, such as writing, calligraphy, ceramics, and martial arts.

With Mother’s Day approaching, she also shared the greatness of maternal love, recited her own poem, and led everyone in the collective chanting of Meng Jiao’s Tang dynasty poem "Song of the Parting Son," to jointly feel the deep affection of motherly love. Afterwards, female participants also received flowers as a token of appreciation.

Treasurer Zhan Xingmin combined his family experiences to share group games suitable for parent-child and family interaction, emphasizing the promotion of emotional exchange and family harmony through play.

Cultural forum host Shen Renxiang, in the "Exploring Words and Characters" segment, systematically explained the rich vocabulary related to “seeing” in Chinese characters, using the theme "Seeing, How to See." This included dozens of words such as "jian, shi, guan, wang, cha, kui," covering different situations and emotional expressions, helping participants deeply understand the cultural connotations of Chinese characters.

In the "Humanities & Philosophy" session, he further introduced Chapters 1 through 4 of the "Dao De Jing" and the essence of Taoist thought, guiding participants to draw wisdom from Chinese philosophy.

This event integrated classical poetry, wartime experiences, the theme of maternal love, family interaction, Chinese character philosophy, and Taoist thought, demonstrating the depth and diversity of Jide Care Association’s "Cultural Academy" in both content and form, and received widespread acclaim from participants.

At the end of the event, Chen Lizhen presented flowers to all female participants to express respect and care for women; Jide Care Association Vice President Shen Zongxiang presented a calligraphy work by a renowned master as a gift to the speakers.
