(Sri Aman, 14th) — A four-wheel drive vehicle lost control and overturned into the roadside ditch on Jalan Bukit Bangunan Sri Aman–Serian yesterday evening, with a family of three on board having a close brush with danger; all were injured.
The incident occurred at around 6:20 pm. With the help of the public, the three injured parties managed to escape from the vehicle, and the rescue team soon arrived at the scene.
Incident commander Noor Faqriakmal stated that nine personnel from the Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Sri Aman) were deployed and rushed to the scene after receiving the emergency call.
“Upon arrival, it was discovered to be a single-vehicle traffic accident, with a pickup truck overturned in a roadside ditch.”
“The public at the scene had already successfully rescued the three injured individuals,” he said in a statement.
The fire and rescue team immediately provided initial medical treatment to the injured and wore complete personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the process.
“Subsequently, an adult woman and a child were taken to Sri Aman Second Hospital by the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team from the fire and rescue department for further treatment,” said Noor Faqriakmal.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Authorities also remind the public to stay alert and drive carefully when traveling on slopes and slippery roads.
