US President Trump harshly criticized Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei on the 27th for being ungrateful.
He posted on his social media "Truth Social" stating that he once saved Khamenei's life, preventing him from being assassinated.
He said: "I knew exactly where he was hiding, and would not allow the armed forces of Israel or the United States – the greatest and most powerful forces in the world so far – to end his life."
He added: "I saved his life, sparing him from an extremely ugly and shameful death. He doesn’t need to say, 'Thank you, President Trump.'"
Earlier, Khamenei issued a statement, claiming that reports of American bombing causing damage to Iranian nuclear facilities had been exaggerated, and said Iran had defeated Israel and delivered the US a "slap in the face."
Trump harshly criticized Iran's claims of victory over Israel and said he would stop work that could potentially lift sanctions.
He revealed that in recent days he had been considering the possibility of lifting sanctions against Iran, which has been one of Iran’s long-standing demands.
He stated: "But no, instead, I was hit with angry, hateful, and disgusting statements, so I immediately stopped all work regarding lifting sanctions, along with other matters."
