Explosion of Electric Car in front of Trump Hotel in Las Vegas Results in 1 Dead and 7 Injured

 

An electric car explosion occurred in front of the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, on Wednesday, resulting in 1 death and 7 injuries. 

Police said at a press conference that the incident took place at 8:40 am local time, when a Tesla electric car exploded in front of the main entrance of the Trump Hotel, causing the death of 1 person inside the car and injuries to 7 people nearby. 

Police are conducting further investigation to determine the nature of the incident and the identity of the deceased. 

Areas around the Trump Hotel were subsequently locked down, with a large number of law enforcement officers, firefighters, and medical personnel arriving at the scene. Some hotel guests were transferred to other hotels.

A witness told a local TV station that he initially thought someone was setting off fireworks when he heard the explosion, but then saw a Tesla electric car parked in front of the hotel explode and catch fire. 

It is still unclear whether the cause of the incident was a malfunction of the vehicle itself or an explosion of an item inside the car.
