On Wednesday, U.S. President Biden stated that the Department of Justice is investigating whether there is any connection between the New Orleans car ramming incident and the car explosion in front of Trump Hotel in Las Vegas.
He said: "So far, there isn't much to report on this."
Following the "deliberate" car ramming into a crowd incident in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the early hours of January 1st local time, an electric vehicle explosion occurred later that day in front of Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, resulting in 1 death and 7 injuries.
In discussing the investigation progress of the New Orleans car ramming incident, Biden cited information from the FBI, noting that the suspect, who was shot dead by police, had posted a video on social media hours before the ramming, suggesting he was "inspired" by the extremist group "Islamic State."
Regardless, FBI investigator Schwartz described the Las Vegas explosion as "an isolated incident."
He said: "We don't believe many people supported or assisted in this matter."
