Zahid Supports FELDA Forensic Audit, Emphasizes Evidence Collection and Accountability for Violators

(Kuala Lumpur, 23rd) Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid stated that a comprehensive investigation is underway at the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA), including a forensic legal audit, in order to obtain solid evidence and hold violators accountable.

He pointed out that conducting a thorough investigation is intended to ensure that any parties found to have caused losses or damage to the agency can be brought to justice based on clear and credible evidence.

Ahmad Zahid made these remarks after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar called for the investigation and prosecution of those involved in corruption within FELDA’s management. The Prime Minister had also criticized those attempting to defend the individuals under investigation, particularly those trying to frame the investigation as motivated by racial considerations.

Ahmad Zahid emphasized that the investigation should proceed according to its due process. Only after relevant authorities have collected sufficient evidence should action be taken against those involved.

The forensic legal audit is expected to provide investigators with a detailed review of FELDA’s financial and administrative records, helping to identify potential violations and clarifying the specific circumstances in which the agency has suffered losses.

This investigation also demonstrates the government’s broader determination to enhance accountability and governance levels within government-linked agencies and departments.

Anwar previously insisted that allegations of corruption and mismanagement should not be shielded by political, racial or other factors, and stressed that once violations are confirmed, those involved must bear the consequences.

The government’s position is that enforcement actions should be based on evidence and due process, rather than speculation or political rhetoric.

Ahmad Zahid stated that the comprehensive investigation, including the forensic audit, aims to ensure authorities have sufficient evidence to determine accountability and take appropriate legal action.

As the government strives to address concerns regarding FELDA’s management and financial status, and to ensure that the agency’s resources are protected for the benefit of settlers and related stakeholders, this investigation is expected to continue receiving close attention.
