(Kuala Lumpur, 23rd) Following a series of coordinated attacks in several southern border provinces of Thailand, the Malaysian government has issued an emergency travel warning, urging its citizens to avoid non-essential trips to southern Thailand.

The Thai security forces reported that key public places in multiple areas of Narathiwat, Yala, and Pattani provinces were subjected to a series of violent incidents, including bomb explosions, car bombs, and arson attacks.

According to the Thai military authorities, the violent clashes erupted late Saturday night. Coordinated attack targets included administrative offices, electric poles, convenience stores, and commercial gas stations. In Narathiwat alone, at least 11 separate violent incidents were recorded, one of which, involving a car explosion, left multiple people injured.

In response to the deteriorating security situation, the Thai military has announced an immediate nighttime curfew in Narathiwat province, restricting civilian movement at night, while joint security forces have launched blockades and search operations.

Kelantan State Police Chief, Dato Mohd Yusoff Mamat, called on the public, especially residents living in border areas such as Pasir Mas, Tumpat, and Tanah Merah, to postpone all cross-border leisure and non-urgent trips.
