Airbus has secured a major order from China Southern Airlines and its subsidiary for the purchase of A320neo series aircraft.
According to Bloomberg, as stated in an announcement on the 29th, the deal includes China Southern Airlines purchasing 102 aircraft and its subsidiary Xiamen Airlines purchasing 35 aircraft, with a total list price of 21.4 billion USD (84.612 billion MYR), though large orders often come with significant discounts.
After the news of the agreement was released, Airbus shares increased their gains, rising as much as 5% on the Paris exchange. However, the stock is still down 12% year-to-date.
Previously, in March, China Eastern Airlines signed an agreement to purchase 101 A320neo aircraft, with a total list price of about 15.8 billion USD (62.471 billion MYR). Last year, Air China also signed an agreement to purchase 60 Airbus aircraft, with a total list price of 9.53 billion USD (37.68 billion MYR). Airbus has also signed sales agreements with Spring Airlines and Juneyao Airlines.
