(Bandar Seri Begawan, 22nd) In order to further ease traffic congestion at the school gate during peak hours and to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and parents, Chung Hwa Middle School recently once again invited the Royal Brunei Police Force's traffic section to the school to provide on-site guidance and assess the traffic flow around the campus, jointly promoting the implementation of traffic control measures.
This operation follows the initial joint collaboration when the police visited the school in early March this year and marks yet another in-depth cooperation. On that morning, under the leadership of a senior inspector, several traffic police officers visited the school and worked with the school staff to evaluate the issue of vehicles randomly parked on the left side of the road outside the school gate, which causes the two-way lane to become a single lane and reduces traffic efficiency. Through the proper placement of traffic cones as physical barriers to clearly designate temporary parking zones, the phenomenon of illegal parking was effectively curbed.
During the event, the board of Chung Hwa Middle School donated 30 brand-new traffic cones to support the ongoing optimization of traffic management. At the handover ceremony, Board General Affairs Representative Liao Tian Shun transferred the traffic cones to Board Chairman Yang Dezhen, who then passed them on to Principal Xu Yuelan. Also present at the handover were the school's Board Vice Supervisor Lin Changyi and others who witnessed the event. Both parties expressed that they will continue to invest resources and work together to maintain a secure and smooth traffic environment around the campus.
On behalf of the school, Principal Xu Yuelan thanked the Royal Brunei Police Force's traffic section for their professional guidance and strong support, as well as the parents for their long-term understanding and cooperation. She emphasized that improving traffic order requires the joint efforts of the school, police, and families, in order to best reduce congestion outside the school gates and ensure the safety of students. At the same time, she explained that during the trial phase of these new measures, some parents and students may experience minor inconveniences during peak hours and asked for everyone's understanding and tolerance.
The police stated that drivers must strictly observe traffic laws, especially on roads surrounding the campus, and consciously cooperate with the guidance of the traffic cones, avoiding illegal parking. If any drivers continue to ignore the regulations and obstruct normal traffic order, the traffic police will take further legal action as necessary.
The school stated that they will continue to monitor the traffic situation along with the police, dynamically optimizing the traffic flow plans and striving to create a safe, orderly, and civilized environment around the campus for teachers, students, and parents.
