(Bandar Seri Begawan, 10th) In order to create a clean and healthy learning environment, Chung Hwa Middle School Brunei organized a school-wide major cleaning activity at 9:30 am yesterday, involving all teachers and students. Working together, the school's teachers and students thoroughly cleaned classrooms, corridors, activity rooms, and other areas, refreshing the campus environment in preparation for the upcoming school holiday.
On campus, all teachers and students equipped with brooms, buckets, cloths, and other tools, quickly began work according to pre-assigned responsibility zones. Inside the teaching buildings, each class had clearly defined tasks: some wiped whiteboards and windowsills, some swept up paper scraps and mopped the floors, while others organized book corners and storage cabinets.
In the corridors, secondary students proactively took on higher cleaning tasks, carefully wiping exterior windows and wall decorations with long-handled cloths; upper primary students spontaneously helped fetch water and carry garbage, demonstrating a spirit of cooperation; lower primary students, under teachers' guidance, learned how to properly use cleaning tools.
During the cleaning, teachers and students not only cleared rubbish from the ground, but also deep-cleaned doors, windows, desks, chairs, whiteboards, and removed stubborn stains from the corners. Some classes even organized waste sorting by themselves, separating recyclables from other trash, further strengthening environmental awareness.
After more than two hours of hard work, the campus environment was transformed: corridor floors were clean and bright, classroom desks and chairs neatly arranged, and no clutter was found in public areas, earning high praise from the school's administrative leaders.
Principal Hoo Mooi Lan said that the campus cleaning activity is not just environmental improvement, but also a vivid lesson in labor education. Through personal participation, students can deeply understand the principle of "One who fails to sweep a room is not fit to sweep the world," cultivating their sense of responsibility and spirit of teamwork.
Indeed, through participating in this cleaning activity, Chung Hwa students not only realized the importance of maintaining campus hygiene but also experienced the power of unity and cooperation. This has, invisibly, improved the quality of the campus environment and strengthened the cohesion between teachers and students, thereby creating a cleaner and healthier atmosphere for learning on campus.
